DAY 5:
Day 5 started with visiting the Mediterranean Sea and the Aqueduct (fun fact: the aqueduct was built during the time of King Herrod)!
We then went to visit the city of Haifa, first stopping by the Stella Maris Monastery located on the slopes of Mount Carmel. Here, we celebrated mass and took in sites of the beautiful church!
DAY 6:
Day 6 started with a bus ride towards Jerusalem for the second half of our Pilgrimage.
First, we drove to the Jordan River, where the group also renewed their baptismal vows. Everyone got to spend time at the river, and even stepped in it!!
After that, we rode through Jericho to observe the old ruins and enjoy the city as it is today. We also stopped by the Mount of Temptation, the site where Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights.
Finally, we stopped by the Israel Museum to see a model of old Jerusalem and learn about the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Aleppo Codex. What a memory to be learning so much history!
